We understand how crazy things can get on rainy days! That’s why we have prepared the ultimate rainy day activity guide for you. From cubby houses to arts-and-crafts, recipes, and everything in between!

01. Make a cubby house

Cubby Houses are a great way for children to enjoy imaginative play. For example, a simple cubby can become all sorts of places – a shop, school, castle, the possibilities are endless. Making or building a cubby encourages children to think creatively and solve problems.

How: Add a sheet over our Small or Large Pikler or combine our Pikler’s with our Ramp Slide and a sheet for an even bigger cubby!

02. Magnetic whiteboard

Magnet play stimulates active curiosity and visual memory, and it's also a great introduction to science. Plus, this activity builds fine motor skills as your toddler grasps and moves the magnets around. We absolutely love MagBlox Magnets, for their awesome design, durability and colour options.

03. Watch a Movie

Just as much as you love a move on a rainy day, your little ones do too. It keeps them entertained and happy for hours on end. Netflix gives us ease of mind, because you can add age appropriate filters.

04. Shape play

Shape activities can help kids develop important problem-solving skills. For example, this happens when a child recognizes the characteristics of a square, and matches it in a square hole. Educational toys like our shape sorter will allow your little one to do just this, with different shapes, and different colors, they will know their shapes in no time.

05. Get creative

Drawing enables your child's imagination to become more active. Each time they draw they access their imagination and make physical representations of what's in their mind. Our Whiteboard allows your child’s imagination to run wild, plus there is no mess, simply erase the whiteboard when they are done.

06. Bake cookies with your Kids

Who doesn’t love cookies on a rainy day? They are the perfect warm treat for everyone to enjoy.
Cooking encourages children's thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It also allows children the opportunity to use the knowledge they have and apply it by counting, measuring, following a sequence, following directions, and cause and effect.

We love: This Kids Cookie Recipe, it’s so simple!

07. Burn some energy

There is no doubt that on days stuck in doors, your kids probably have a lot of energy stored up. What better way to burn some energy than getting them active. Our range of climbing frames is perfect for this. Not only do they use physical energy, but also cognitive energy.

We especially love our Ramp Slide in combo with our Large Pikler. Climbing up the large pikler and down the ramp is sure to burn some energy. Or flip the slide over to become a climbing ramp!

Or, get creative with our Wobble Balance Board and keep your little legends active for hours on end. Rock it! Balance on it! Read on it! Slide on it!
